Allergan News: New, Bigger Latisse Bottle and Juvederm Apple App
- Posted on: Jul 19 2012
LATISSE® solution is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis (inadequate or not enough eyelashes) used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker, and darker.
With the LATISSE® clinical study, patients saw full results in 16 weeks and half of the patients (69 out of 137) saw significantly more prominent eyelashes after 8 weeks (versus 15% for placebo, 21 out of 141 patients).
It is topically applied once at night before bed with a special sterile applicator brush directly above the eyelashes on the upper eyelid. If you stop using LATISSE®, lashes will gradually return to their previous appearance.
Side effects of LATISSE® are itching sensations in the eyes and/or eye redness, which are reported in approximately 4% of patients. Other less common side effects typically occur on the skin close to where the solution is applied, or in the eyes. These include eyelid skin darkening, eye irritation, dryness of the eyes, and redness of the eyelids. Eyelid skin darkening is a result of increased melanin in the skin, making your eyelid skin look a little darker close to where the solution is applied to the skin. This is expected to reverse after several weeks to months if you decide to stop using the product.
In further Allergan news, a JUVÉDERM® Treatment Visualizer App has been released in the Apple iTunes Store!

The app is for demonstrative purposes only. Results may vary.
JUVÉDERM® injectable gel (including JUVÉDERM® Ultra, JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus, JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC, and JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC) is indicated for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (such as nasolabial folds).
