Chin implants can increase the size and projection of a chin that is not in proportion with the forehead and mid-face. A small or recessed chin can also be described as one that seems to disappear into the neck of an individual of normal weight, rather than appearing as a distinct facial feature. Dr. Monasebian will evaluate your face and chin to determine what implant is best for you. He places his incisions inside the mouth so no visible scarring is present. If an implant does not meet your needs, Dr. Monasebian can also perform an osteotomy which involves a bone cut followed by surgically repositioning the chin to its new position. This is particularly effective with asymmetric chins where a chin implant will not work satisfactorily.
