20’s:
In our 20s, we start to pursue cosmetic procedures to enhance our facial features such as rhinoplasty, otoplasty and genioplasty. Breast augmentation and breast reduction are also popular among women, as are procedures to address stubborn areas of fat with liposuction. Other procedures include dimple creation and lip augmentation. Addressing skin concerns with laser and energy based treatments along with medical-grade skincare and cosmeceuticals is also popular.
30’s:
In our 30s, we start to see signs of facial and physical aging and plastic surgery procedures which are popular are those to address and reverse the early signs of facial aging and breast and body changes. These include mini facelifts and facial implants. Breast augmentation, tummy tucks, liposuction and the mommy and daddy makeovers for the body. Energy based and laser treatments also remain popular and serve as excellent adjunctive treatments. We also start to receive dermal fillers and Botox injections.
40’s:
In our 40s, we continue to consider anti-aging procedures such as facelifts, neck lifts, browlifts and eyelid surgery to address further signs of aging such as sagging skin, wrinkles, and loss of volume. Dermal fillers and Botox continue to be popular for smoothing lines and restoring youthful volume. Fat transfer procedures to restore volume to the face and body also become popular in this decade. Breast enhancement such as breast augmentation and breast lifting are considered for breast changes related to pregnancy, breast feeding and weight fluctuations.
50’s
In our 50s, we continue to seek out more advanced procedures to reverse facial aging including facelifts, browlifts, eyelid surgery, neck lifts. Combined laser resurfacing treatments add to this rejuvenation. Lip lifts and lip enhancements become popular as the upper lip shows signs of aging too. Body contouring procedures to enhance the chest, breasts and abdomen also remain popular. Some individuals even consider body lift surgery and women may wish to consider the “meno- makeover” which addresses the effects of menopause.
60’s and Beyond
In our 60s, we continue to consider both surgical and non-surgical plastic surgery procedures to address signs of aging. Surgical options still include facelifts, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), brow lifts, and tummy tucks. Fat transfer and facial implants are usually performed with these procedures. Non-surgical options include laser skin resurfacing, chemical peels, Botox, and dermal fillers. Overall health considerations are factored in not only with surgery and anesthesia, but also with recovery.
